Beard Transplants in Johannesburg

For patchy growth, scars or a beard that never quite arrived. Real hair, placed to grow the way a beard should.

Not every face grows a beard

Genetics decide where beard hair grows, and no oil, supplement or derma roller changes that. Some men have bare patches on the cheeks, some have gaps along the jaw, and some can only manage stubble in places. Scars from acne, surgery or injury also leave permanent gaps that hair will not cross on its own.

A beard transplant moves hair from the back of your scalp into the beard area. Scalp hair matches beard hair closely in most men, and once settled it grows, and needs shaving, like the rest of your beard.

What we can do

Why the angles matter

Beard hair grows flatter and in more varied directions than scalp hair, changing angle from the cheek to the jaw to the neck. Grafts placed at scalp angles stick out and look wrong. This is detail work, done graft by graft under local anaesthetic, and it is where experience shows. Our team has performed thousands of procedures.

Recovery

Expect small scabs in the treated area for about a week and some redness that fades over days. Most men are back at work within a few days. The transplanted hairs shed after a few weeks, which is normal, then grow back for good from around the third or fourth month. You can shave normally once the area has fully healed.

Wondering about price? Beard work is quoted per graft like scalp work, and our cost page explains what drives the number.

Common Questions

Your Questions, Answered

Will a beard transplant look natural?
Yes, if the angles and direction are right. Beard grafts must be placed flatter than scalp hair and follow the natural growth pattern of each zone of the face. That is the core skill of the procedure.
Can you fix just one patch?
Yes. Filling a single patch or scar is common and often a smaller, quicker session.
When can I shave?
Once the area has fully healed, usually within a couple of weeks. After that the transplanted hair behaves like any other beard hair.
Does it hurt?
The area is numbed with local anaesthetic. You may feel pressure but not pain, and tenderness afterwards settles within a day or two.
